Boeing 737NG Type Training

Part 147 approved
737NG type CouRSE

737NG type training for engineers with a B1.1 or B2 licence seeking a type rating for the Boeing 737-600/700/800/900.

Theory Course

Face to face online theory for 737NG

Held online via teams over four weeks, the theory program covers all knowledge training and assessment required for a type rating on the 737NG. At the successful completion of this course, the student will have gained sufficient knowledge of the BOEING 737-6/7/8/900 (CFM56) necessary to perform and certify maintenance tasks permitted to be carried out as certifying staff in the category B1.1 &/or B2 – students can also elect to pair with a Practical (On Course) training program for the practical elements of the type rating.

It provides detailed description, operation, component location, removal/installation, BITE and troubleshooting procedures to a maintenance manual level. The student will have an understanding of the specific human factor issues that may be associated with this particular aircraft type.

Well structured course. Both David & Murray were very helpful, and had a great understanding of the aircraft.

Practical on Course

POC Course for 737NG

Run regularly each year, Sigma Aerospace College’s Boeing 737NG POC course is the practical component of type training for B1/B2 engineers who need a current, structured pathway to a 737NG type rating outcome. Built to CASA Part 147 requirements, the course is designed to take the theory off the page and into the aircraft environment through guided practical training aligned to the aircraft’s core systems, maintenance practices and certification context. This course is delivered as face-to-face ‘Practical on Course’ POC at a maintenance facility in either SYD, BNE, CBR, or MEL using an operational aircraft that is readily available for the training session

Rather than generic exposure, the course is focused on the real maintenance knowledge engineers need to translate type theory into usable hands-on competence. It is suited to engineers progressing to a 737NG rating, operators upskilling existing staff, and maintenance organisations that need a cleaner, more efficient route to type capability. Where used as a second rating in the same category, the POC can satisfy the practical training requirement; where it is a first rating, it integrates cleanly into the broader OJT pathway.

Need OJT Books?

Our OJT record books are designed for individuals seeking their first type rating

Our Boeing 737NG OJT book is designed to support engineers completing the on-the-job training component of their type pathway. It provides a clear structure for recording practical task exposure, supervisor sign-off and progression across the aircraft. Built for real maintenance environments, it helps engineers, supervisors and employers run a cleaner, more organised OJT process with less guesswork and better traceability.
