About the Course

Sigma Aerospace College Diploma courses are designed for all aspiring aircraft engineers and meet the training and assessment requirements to progress towards licencing.

The VET Diploma courses include all relevant learning materials and assessments for associated ASQA Units of Competency.

Theory training is delivered online via self-paced learning via Sigma’s Learning Management System. Practical training is not included so practical criteria are met via Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL) by uploading suitable evidence.

Before You Enrol:

This course covers the MEA Aeroskills Training Package units of competency, that should be attained before by candidates who wish to progress beyond classification as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.

This course stream includes elective units designed for individuals looking to progress down the Fixed Wing/Piston Engine/Pressurised Aircraft-focused pathway.

Entry Requirements

You must meet the following criteria to enrol in this course:

  • Have a minimum English level of Upper Intermediate equivalent to 5.5 IELTS (Academic) or ICAO / CASA Aviation English language proficiency rating of 4

This course does NOT include practical training. Practical competencies must be met via Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL). To attain the practical competencies associated with this course, you will be expected to upload the following documentation:

  • Related Log of Industrial Experience pages
  • Journal documents signed by your supervisor
  • Work History Sheets
  • Any Supervisor Signature Registers
  • Type Course Syllabus and Certificates
  • Related Industry Maintenance documentation
  • Commonwealth Statutory Declaration etc

To enrol in this qualification you must have access to aircraft & maintenance facilities to complete the practical component – otherwise you are ineligible to enrol and may result in forfeiture of any fees paid.

Critical Notes:

  1. Students looking to accelerate the processing of their RPL report will need to pay in full upfront.
  2. If you believe you have valid previous Aeroskills qualifications, units of competency, or are transferring from another provider and wondering if you can get a discount, select the ‘Pay by Invoice’ option at checkout and following the Client RPL Document Upload process, we will assess if any industry discount applies (without guarantee) and revise the invoice, however this will slow down the process of receiving your initial RPL report.
  3. Initial RPL report, career or training advice and guidance will only be released following payment of tuition fees in full.

Prior to commencement all students are required to review the Student Handbook & RPL Applicants Guide, and the complete set of policies related to your training at sigma.edu.au/policies

Please note, Sigma Aerospace College is NOT Approved to deliver CASA Licence Outcomes.
